Removing the Admin User
IguanaX ships with a single user Administrator account enabled.
-
For Windows and MacOS, the default username is admin, and the password is “ password”.
-
For Linux, the default username is admin, and a randomly generated password is provided.
We strongly recommend to create a new User Account with administrator privileges and delete the default admin user for production servers:
STEP 1: Create an admin role #admin (or any name) and give it full access rights to IguanaX
-
Login as admin and navigate to Settings > Roles
-
Click
to create a #admin User Role and grant full access rights. All boxes should be checked. Click

STEP 2: Create the new admin user with a secure name and assign the #admin role

STEP 3: Test carefully to ensure that the new admin user works
Logout of IguanaX and log back in as your new User with full admin access rights. Carefully test to make sure you are able to perform all admin tasks, before deleting the built-in admin user.
STEP 4: When ready, delete the built-in in admin user

If you wish to keep the admin user, we recommend changing the default password to a more secure password. See Users for how to edit an existing User's password.
