PHI Mask Adapter

The PHIMASK Adapter is designed to provide a template for masking certain protected health information (PHI) fields in HL7, FHIR and CDA messages. It leverages the PHIMASK library.

This component can be customized and adapted according to your workflow needs.

Note: The default fields in the adapter are typical fields that include PHI. Your use-case may vary, we recommend testing thoroughly with comprehensive and fully-populated messages.

Running the Component

STEP 1: Import the PHIMASK Adapter

Using +COMPONENT, import the PHIMASK Adapter component.

STEP 2: Connect an upstream component and a downstream component from the component card

STEP 3: Start the components and view the obscured messages in the logs

Note PID-3, PID-5 and others.

Adding or removing fields

Simply follow the same pattern, add the path or the field required to the table as required.
