How to use Athenahealth Sandbox

Athenhealth offers a testing sandbox to interact and develop against their athenaOne and FHIR APIs Server. If you want to try out the AthenaHealth Adapter in Iguana X, the testing sandbox is a great resource to test your implementation.

Go to https://docs.athenahealth.com/api/sandbox and Click on Authorize

Choose Preview if you are not in production and fill the Auth Credentials and Scopes and click Authorize

You will receive “Authorized“ notification window when complete. Click Done!

Choose an Athenahealth API for testing

Get the appropriate PracticeID from the Sandbox description (see below). The Athenahealth Adapter uses 1128700 for Hospital/health System testing by default. This can be changed in the component card's custom fields.

Choose an API for testing and Click on Execute.
